VIOLENCE has broken out in Belfast on Saturday, with report of clashes between flags protesters and nationalists.
Four police officers have been injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
It is understood the trouble broke out as protesters returned from a demonstration at Belfast City Hall.
Rocks and fireworks were thrown at the Albertbridge Road near the nationalist Short Strand area.
Riot police fired at least one plastic bullet.
They have moved in to separate the crowds but the trouble is continuing.
Police have brought in two water cannon to the area.
Around, 1,000 people had earlier gathered at city hall for a peaceful protest.
