A 23-year-old woman is expected to appear in court in Ballymena on Thursday morning.
She has been charged with manslaughter by PSNI Detectives from the Serious Crime Branch who are investigating the death of Coleraine pensioner Bertie Acheson.
The woman was charged by detectives from the PSNI’s Serious Crime Branch yesterday evening. She was arrested on Monday.
As is normal procedure the charge will be reviewed by the PPS.
Mr Acheson, 72, was assaulted after he confronted an intruder in his Glenmore Gardens home on April, 30.
He suffered a heart attack during the burglary, which detectives said was brought on by stress.
The elderly couple had been asleep in bed when they suddenly woke to the sound of breaking glass at around 1.30am.
Mr Acheson went to investigate and was confronted by an intruder who demanded money.
There was an altercation, before the intruder went into the bedroom and threatened Mrs Acheson, before taking her purse and fleeing with £375.
