A CHURCH in Armagh city will “say it with flowers” next month when it holds a flower festival as part of its 200th anniversary celebrations.

St Mark’s Parish Church, situated just off The Mall, will be open to everyone from Friday, May 4 until Monday, May 7 offering meals and refreshments in addition to displays of flowers and art.

Renowned flower arranger Alan Beatty will be preparing the displays against the backdrop of the church’s stained glass windows.

The theme for the festival – which will raise vital funds for the Shyogwe Bible and Development School in Rwanda – is Yesterday, Today and Forever.

St Mark’s was featured in the News Letter back in February when 70 couples renewed their wedding vows at a special church service.

Armagh Mayor Freda Donnelly will offically open the four-day event on May 4 at 7pm.
