MODERN technology depicts the last Plantagenet king of England Richard III, whose remains were found under a Leicester car park, as rather a handsome young man.
He was only 32 when he was slain at the Battle of Bosworth in 1485 and some now think he should be given the honour of being buried in York Minster as he ‘fought manfully to the end’. I wouldn’t give him such an honour. His two young nephews, one the Pretender to the Throne, died in mysterious circumstances under his watch in the Tower of London. I prefer to think of him as a villain and opportunist and under a car park was a good enough burial place for him.
