Energy Minister Arlene Foster has officially opened Calor Gas’ newly refurbished office in Belfast.

Calor Gas employs 98 staff in its Belfast office where a recent £550,000 investment by the company has led to the creation of six additional jobs in its Customer Contact Department.

Speaking to staff and company officials at the newly refurbished office, the Minister said: “Calor Gas has made a significant investment at its Belfast premises, which shows the company’s commitment to their local workforce. The creation of additional jobs is also a positive development, particularly in the current economic climate.

“I welcome the company’s investment in the LPG industry, which supports my Department’s objectives as it is a low carbon fuel which can contribute towards the achievement of lower carbon energy targets.

Calor CEO Michael Kossack said:“Belfast will now act as the initial point of contact for all new customers on the island. This shows our continued commitment and belief in Belfast as a centre of customer service excellence and a critical hub for the efficient distribution of LPG, especially to rural Northern Ireland.”
