Operation Standstill is due to take place at the commuter rush hour on Friday night across Belfast.

Protests are also set to take place at Taughmonagh in south Belfast from 6pm, at the old town hall in Donaghadee, Co Down, from 6pm and at the council buildings in Limavady at 7pm.

The Woodstock Link in east Belfast was closed to motorists as protests in support of the Union Flag continued to take place on Thursday evening.

Peaceful protests also took place in Rasharkin and at Bushmills in north Antrim, among other places.

The next major protest is due to take place at Belfast City Hall on Saturday at 1pm.

The route that protestors from east Belfast will use to walk into the city centre has been changed to Middlepass Street in an attempt to avoid the violence which erupted last weekend between protestors and residents in the nationalist Short Strand area.
