Protests have been planned province-wide this evening, despite the Unionist Forum having held its first meeting on Thursday.

Organisers said there will be “multiple protests” across Northern Ireland in a two-hour demonstration which is being dubbed ‘Operation Standstill’.

Places listed so far include Belfast, Newtownards, Larne, Rathcoole, Portadown and Bangor. One protest is even schedule for Liverpool on Friday at 6pm and a further demonstration in Bristol on Saturday.

Protests are being arranged through social networking sites as far ahead as January 27, despite repeated calls for them to stop.

On Thursday Unionist politicians and a number of prominent loyalists gathered at Stormont in the first meeting of the Unionist Forum.

Leaders said the meeting had been very positive and head of the UUP Mike Nesbitt added that there were plans for members of the forum to “get out and hit the ground” on Friday.
