TWO men have been charged after a man was assaulted in Londonderry with hammers and bats.
A PSNI spokesman said the assault in the Ebrington Street area of the city happened around 2.10am on December 22. It was reported that three men were involved in carrying out the assault.
It is believed the victim sustained serious head and facial injuries. He was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment to his injuries which aren’t believed to be life threatening.
The two men - aged 26-years and 41-years - are expected to appear at Londonderry magistrates court on Monday morning charged with aggravated burglary, intent to commit grievous bodily harm, grievous bodily harm with intent and being in possession of an offensive weapon.
